Rakesh Tikait: We need to save the country from BJP
On July 31, 2023, the Bharatiya Kisan Union organised a meeting in the village of Dangrol in Shamli district, where discussions were held on the issues concerning farmers. In this meeting, Rakesh Tikait, the National Spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union, addressed the gathering.

Kairana : Hindus upset over Mewat violence
CCA team engaged in discussions with the people of Jagannapur village in Kairana town of Shamli district regarding the incidents of violence that took place in Mewat, Haryana. People of Kairana assert that these disturbances are the result of a government conspiracy and manipulation. They expressed their concerns that mistreatment is occurring alongside Muslims in Mewat and that divisive politics between Hindus and Muslims will not succeed in the country.

Shamli: Teachers' Protest Over Pension
The Secondary Teachers' Union Thakurai Group held a one-day protest on August 9, 2023, at the District Inspectorate Office in Shamli district regarding pensions and 27 other demands. Teachers state that they will continue to advocate for the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme

Shamli: BKU protests at the Collectorate
The Bhartiya kisan Union initiated a protest at the Collectorate of Shamli district concerning various demands, including preventing power disconnections, addressing pending sugarcane payments, and curbing corruption at the tehsil level. Farmers express that the state government is consistently oppressing them, a situation they refuse to tolerate. The power corporation is causing distress to the farmers.

On 17th August, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) organized a monthly panchayat in Sisauli, Muzaffarnagar district. In this panchayat, Rakesh Tikait, the National Spokesperson of BKU, addressed the gathering stating that ‘‘farmers will have to save their land from capitalists

Everything will be over if BJP returns in 2024
On 17th August, the Bharatiya Kisan Union organised a monthly panchayat in Sisauli, Muzaffarnagar district. Addressing this panchayat, Naresh Tikait, the National President of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, expressed his views. Naresh Tikait stated that if this government returns in 2024, everything will be finished. He urged everyone to unite against this government.

The World of Shamli’s Women Circus Artists
Every year in Qasba Kandhla, Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, a fair is organized on the occasion of Dussehra, where people from far and wide come to showcase their talents. The circus set up here becomes the main attraction of the fair, where female artists display their skills and stunts. This circus predominantly features women performers who captivate the audience with their distinct performances. Salute to the struggles of these women who entertain to support their families.

Shamli : Struggles of Pottery Vendors
The CCA team spoke to a labourer who sells clay utensils on a cart lane by the roadside in the Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. These small shopkeepers are present in many areas around Shamli. He mentioned that this is the only work that they do to earn their livelihood, but they don't earn much from this job. According to him, they only make a small income from this business, which makes it difficult for them to manage their expenses.
