CCA recently had a discussion with Pradesh Pravakta (State Spokesperson) Vishwas Chaudhary from Ralod in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh.They discussed the controversial remarks made by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri against BSP MP Danish Ali from Amroha in the new Parliament building and the new women's reservation bill.

Women's Perspectives on Bhagat Singh
In Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, a gathering was organized on the auspicious occasion of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. Many people from different places attended this event. The CCA team had conversations with some women who attended. In these discussions, the women expressed their views on Bhagat Singh, emphasizing the importance of advancing his ideals.

Rakesh Tikait: No Payment, No Sugarcane
In Bhaisana, located in the Budhana town of Muzaffarnagar district, farmers are awaiting a sugarcane payment of 225 crores from Bajaj Sugar Mill. Protesting the demand for payment, BKU workers have been staging a sit-in at the mill gate for more than 100 days. Despite several rounds of agitation and demonstrations, the sugar mill has not made full payment. In response, a tractor march was organized in Budhana. After the tractor march, a panchayat was held at Bhaisana Sugar Mill. Rakesh Tikait has stated that the sugar mill is not making payments, violating government orders, and the state government remains silent. The delay in receiving the sugarcane payment has left the farmers in the region distressed.

Farmers of Charthawal Take to the Streets
In the Charthawal block of Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Kisan Union organized a panchayat on Tuesday to address various demands of farmers. Farmers in the region claim that the government is not listening to their concerns. Frustrated by the absence of officials at the panchayat venue, the farmers staged a protest at the Muzaffarnagar district headquarters.

Shamli: Farmers' Struggle for 32 Days
Farmers in Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, have been staging an indefinite protest since August 22, 2023, demanding the complete payment of pending sugarcane dues and equitable allocation of sugarcane to other sugar mills apart from Shamli Sugar Mill. The farmers claim that due to the non-payment of sugarcane dues, they are facing severe financial distress. The farmers allege that the BJP, too, betrayed them after coming to power, and they do not want to supply sugarcane to Shamli Mill.

Shamli: Will farmers shut the sugar mill?
In Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, farmers are unwavering in their protest, now on the 35th consecutive day at the Sugarcane Cooperative Committee premises. Their demands include full payment of pending sugarcane dues and equitable distribution of sugarcane to mills other than Shamli Sugar Mill. Additionally, they seek solutions for the crop damage caused by stray cattle and the issues of harassment by electricity department officials. These determined farmers are resolute in addressing these pressing concerns.

The majority of people expressed their dissatisfaction with the current government's rule, stating that they have faced numerous challenges during its tenure. They hope for a change this time around.

Why Are Shopkeepers Protesting in Kandhla Town?
In Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, many shopkeepers in Kandhla town are protesting. They claim that the management of Hindu Inter College, where our shops have been for the last 30 years, now wants to construct shops in front of our stores as well. This will affect nearly 40 or more shopkeepers in this market, and their income will be adversely affected. Shopkeepers are protesting against this and demanding justice.

The Grit and Struggles of Women in Rice Farming
In the villages of Gadhi Daulat in Shamli district, Western Uttar Pradesh, many women engage in the demanding work of paddy cultivation to make a living. This labor-intensive task lasts for just two months each year, and these women share that they are working hard to support their families. Rising prices have made their lives even more challenging.
