After the 13 month long farmers’ movement on Delhi’s borders in 2020-21, many in west UP have felt betrayed by Jayant Chaudhary’s RLD breaking ranks with INDIA and allying with the BJP. This alliance has not only raised many questions but has also left several Jat farmers disappointed to the extent that many now don’t see Jayant Chaudhary as their leader.
Farmers have once again taken to the roads as many promises made to them were never fulfilled. This has resulted in the Farmers’ Protest 2.0, where farmers from Punjab and Haryana attempted to march towards Delhi in the 'Delhi Chalo' protest, only to be met with brutal state repression at the Punjab-Haryana borders. They are demanding legal guarantees for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and are receiving support from farmers in West UP.-month-

Baghpat Jat: We will be ruined if Jayant goes to BJP
Soon, there will be Lok Sabha elections in the country. All political parties have started preparing for the elections. Recently, there have been reports in the media about a possible alliance between the Rashtriya Lok Dal and the BJP. CCA spoke with the Jats in Bagpat district about this alliance. The Jats say that they don't expect Jayant Chaudhary to join the BJP.

RJD supporters : An alliance with BJP, will end the RLD
There were reports in the media and on social media about the alliance between the National Lok Dal and the BJP. The CCA team discussed this alliance with the farmers in the Khekra town of Bagpat district. Farmers say RLD will end if it allies with BJP. If Jayant joins the BJP, the farmers will have nothing left.

Kairana Dalits Furious over Jayant-BJP alliance
The CCA team discussed the alliance between the National Lok Dal and the BJP with the Dalits in the village of Aldi in the Kairana Lok Sabha constituency. The Dalits expressed that Jayant Singh made a big mistake by joining the BJP. We voted for Jayant in the Assembly elections, but this time, we won't vote for Jayant Singh.

Shamli Farmers : Every government have exploited farmers
In the Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, farmers staged a protest at the Shamli Sugar Mill demanding the outstanding payment of Rs. 214 crores from the previous season. The farmers were assured that the payment for the last season and the 14-day payment for the new season would be made before the end of the ongoing season. Farmers have been demanding their pending payments for a month, but their grievances have not been addressed. The protest was concluded after the assurance.

Shamli Farmers : There will be another movement in UP
On the call for a rural Bharat Bandh by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, the Bhartiya Kisan union staged a protest in front of the tehsil office in Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh. Farmers say that the farmers' protest has been going on in Delhi for 13 months, but none of the demands have been fulfilled yet, and the government is going against its promises. The government is adopting various measures to stop farmers from Haryana and Punjab

Naresh Tikait: We are with Haryana and Punjab
The Bhartiya kissab Union called for a Panchayat in Sisauli, Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh on February 17. Farmers from neighboring states attended where Naresh Tikait states that, the national committee has made a decision that will be in favor of the farmers' rights. We stand together with the farmers, and Haryana and Punjab should not consider themselves alone. Be prepared for a tractor march on February 21. If needed, farmers from Uttar Pradesh will not step back even from marching to Delhi. The government aims to weaken the farmers' struggle, but we will not be afraid. The entire nation is watching this Panchayat. Now, the country's farmers will talk about rights, not sacrifice.

West UP stands in support of ongoing Farmers protest
On February 17, 2024, farmers associated with the Bharatiya Kisan Union organized a monthly Panchayat in support of the ongoing farmer protest at the Shambhu border. In the Bhakiyu Panchayat, a demonstration was announced on February 21 at the district headquarters of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Delhi. Additionally, on February 26 and 27, farmers will express their dissent on the highways from Haridwar to Ghazipur in their respective regions, pointing towards Delhi, by parking tractors.

Shamli Panchayat : Baba Shyam Singh puts out a warning
On February 20, 2024, in support of the ongoing farmers' protest at the Shambhu Border, the Indian Farmers Union organized a Farmer-Labor Mahapanchayat in the village of Jijaula in Shamli Kairana. In the Panchayat led by Baba Shyam Singh, a prominent figure, challenges were laid out to the administration and the government regarding the issues of farmers and labourers. Baba Shyam Singh expressed discontent and warned the authorities that if the government continued with unjust practices, the farmers were ready to respond.

Shamli : Farmers surround the district headquarters
On February 21, the Bhartiya Kisan Union staged a one-day protest at the Shamli district headquarters, expressing solidarity with the ongoing farmers' movement at the Shambhu Border and presenting the 14-point demands of the farmers. The farmers claim that the government is continuing its authoritarian behaviour. The farmers also submitted a memorandum to the Shamli District Magistrate (DM) regarding the issues faced by farmers.
