Fields in Shamli village submerged in water
The Maamour Lake in the Shamli district used to be a beautiful place, but now it is causing sadness to the locals. The dirty water from the nearby town of Kairana is constantly filling up the lake, making it bigger, but also polluting it. As a result, around 2,500 people living in Maamour village are suffering because of this. During the rainy season, the lake often overflows, and just a week ago, it burst again. The farmers are also facing losses as their crops got destroyed in the lake water. The farmers say they haven't received any help from the government or administration yet.
